Has there ever been a time in your life where you knew you were not where you wanted to be and you are pretty sure how you got to where you are, but you don’t know how to get to where you want to be?
Has there ever been a time when you lost sight of your purpose in life? You knew what it was, and you knew that you wanted to be living that purpose, but for some reason, your vision is distorted at the time and you are not living life to your fullest.
Have you ever said you were not going to do a certain thing, but found yourself doing the exact thing that you didn’t want to do? And then you kept on doing it because you got comfortable and it was just easier to keep doing it?
Wow… this is not a good place to be. Anyone who has ever been there can contest to that! So I guess the question to ask ourselves is how do you fix it? How do you get sight of your vision back? How do you walk away from something that you are comfortable and temporarily happy in? How do you get to where you want to be and be the person that you know you have the potential to be?
There really is only one answer and that answer is to ask Jesus to bring you to that place! We cannot do it on our own. And if we are in this place that I am talking about, we probably are not walking as close to Jesus as we should be.
Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord established their steps.”
So what happens when we plan our course, but then don’t look to the Lord to establish our steps? What happens when we step out on our own?
That’s when we get to a place that we did not actually plan to be in. We made our plans, but we sure didn’t think they would take us to THIS place!
So what do we do when it is too late and we are already at that place? We “Seek the LORD while we can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6)
You RUN after Him with all your heart because He is the only one who can save you from yourself. So next time you find yourself in an unexpected place, cry out to the Lord and He will show up. He will pick you up and lead you to the place that He has planned out for you from the beginning. You just have to be willing to let Him.
Thankyou for this post , what you described is where I am except the happy part because I am not happy with the path I am on.
