Yesterday was a very crazy day. It started out with a text from a friend saying “I thought about you after my prayers this morning. Have a good day.” I just knew it was going to be a good day with that blessing sending me off.
So I left for counseling and I’m just cruising along the highway. Not in a hurry, minding my own business and all of a sudden I look in the rear view mirror and see a car coming up on me so fast and before I knew it he was slamming into my car, jolting me forward.
We pulled over and exchanged information, did the police report and talked to the cute fire men. Mom came and picked me up and she dropped me off at counseling. After counseling I took the train to the halfway house to report.
We had to wait at the train station for the van to pick us up to take us to the halfway house, and the driver was about 20 minutes late. That rarely happens. But I couldn’t help but thinking that there was a reason for the delay.
The driver that picked us up was a new guy and when he turned the radio up, he had the Christian radio station playing. I got so excited! And as everyone was saying, “What are we listening to?? Change the station!” I was saying “TURN IT UP!” And we listened to good music for the first time in the van! I was so blessed! We usually have rap music on and I have to block it out of my mind. So I thought that was kinda weird and I just thought about how this whole day so far had been kinda weird.
And it only got weirder as I saw for myself the reason for the delay.
There, on the same side of the road as we were driving, was another wreck. One car was flipped over and the other car was beat up pretty bad. I stopped and prayed for the people in the wreck then I thanked Him for His timing and for our safety. We could have very well could have been in that wreck, had the driver left on time. Thank You Lord that Your delays are always right on time!
As I read back over the Daily Light from yesterday, the scripture was “Oh… that you would keep me from evil… The Lord shall preserve you from all evil, He shall preserve your soul… He who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” (1 Chr. 4:10, Psalm 121:7, 1 John 5:18)
I saw the Hand of the Lord over my life yesterday. I see how He kept me from the evil one. Not once, but twice. The first wreck could have been so much worse. And the second wreck I saw could have involved us. WOW! How precious life is. And how bad the devil wants to steal it from us.
I am thankful for the covering I have over my life right now. I know the Lord is looking out for me. He sees my every step. “For His eyes are on the ways of man, and He sees all his steps.” (Job 34:21-22) I am thankful that nobody was hurt. I am thankful to be alive today.
