Waking up in my bed at home has a newness to it every time. I wake up with a smile and I snuggle a little farther down in all the blankets! This is not a good thing when I am trying to get up to pray and write… it just takes a little longer!
I got a new devotional yesterday for Christmas and I opened it to see where the bookmark is placed because there is always a special Word marked just for the receiver. And both pages talked of peace. It says: “I am training you in steadiness. Too many things interrupt your awareness of me… As soon as something grabs your attention, talk with me about it. Thus I share your joys and your problems; I help you cope with whatever is before you. This is how I live in you and work through you. This is the way of peace.”
Sitting here in a quiet room, before the day begins, I can’t imagine there being anything except peace! I love how God’s peace just blocks out all the chaos and hustle and bustle of life! I love that it is a gift He gives freely!
I remember when I had no sight of peace. Only confusion and drama. And I created it in my life. It was my safe place at the time. But really it was ruining me! I can hardly imagine my life how it was back then.
Oh BUT GOD… the moment He delivered me from the mess I had made, the peace and joy overflowed in my heart!
I just opened my Bible and it turned to Isaiah 26 and I believe I will end on this verse. God is definitely showering peace down this morning!
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because He trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
