God’s Timing is ALWAYS Perfect

January 6, 2012

“But I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God; my times are in Your Hands.”  (Psalm 31:14-15)

Sometimes I just don’t understand why things can’t happen faster.  In my mind I am ready to move on to the next chapter.  But in God’s mind, there is still more to this chapter.  “His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8)

I got my home confinement date last week and I was a little surprised that it is not until January 15th. I signed my papers at the 1st of December and I feel like it should have been sooner.  There are a lot of other girls at the house that also got theirs and they were all sooner than mine.  And I’ve been here longer than them all.  So I was a little disappointed when my date seemed so far away.

It only took me a few minutes to realize that God’s Hand was all over this.  It’s not that the BOP couldn’t give me an earlier date, because all these other girls got earlier dates.  But there must be a reason I don’t know about that I am supposed to stay at this halfway house another week.

Did you hear that… ANOTHER WEEK… that’s all… what am I complaining about?  It’s like I’ve forgotten all these years that I have waited on the Lord to open the next door.  And now I’m thinking I have to rush things.   It’s good for me to look back and remember how impatient I was waiting to leave prison. And how God taught me so many lessons in patience and waiting. And how different it is now that I’m waiting to leave the halfway house.  I could be content where I am because it is so much better than where I was.

But PRAISE GOD He doesn’t leave us where we are.  He is always moving us forward, as long as we are following.  But we have to trust Him to move us in His timing.

As Streams in the Desert today says:  “God does not open paths for us before we come to them, or provide help before help is needed.  He doesn’t not remove obstacles out of our way before we reach them.  Yet when we are at our point of need, God’s hand is outstretched… Some people expect God to open and clear many miles of road before them, but He promises to do it step by step, only as their need arises.”

Don’t rush God’s timing.  There is always a blessing or a task He has for you to do right here TODAY.  And if you weren’t in the place He put you, you would miss it.
