I just love Psalm 40. It is the story of my life.
“I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.”
“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, Lord my God, are the wonders You have done, the things You planned for us. None can compare with You; were I to speak and tell of Your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” (v.1-5)
The Lord lifted me out of the pit… out of the mud and mire. I was DIRTY! And He set my feet on a rock… on THE ROCK! And now I have a firm place to stand. And boy did He put a song in my mouth. Every day there is a song. And I can’t stop singing to Him and Him alone! And my prayer is that people will see the change in me and put their trust in Him! Cause He is no respecter of persons. What He has done for me, He will do for all!
And I have seen some pretty amazing things that the Lord has done. Many are the wonders He has done. And there are many more wonders in store for His children!
The Psalm ends with “You are my Help, and my Deliverer! O my God, do not delay.” (v. 17)
He never delays! He is always right on time! Cry out to Him! Put your trust in Him! He won’t let you down!
