Finding Your Way

12/15/12

Gonna find my routine soon.  I am home again for the weekend.  I get to come home every weekend now until I get home.  The bed is amazing.  The coffee is fresh!

I finally got to work on a song last night at the piano.  Finding my place back in this world.  While at the same time, knowing I don’t belong here.  How do you get comfortable in a place you know is not your home?

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going.” (John 14:2-5)

So my question is “What is the way that we are taking?”

Jesus says that “He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.” (v.6)

Are we following the way of truth and righteousness?  Or are we allowing the enemy to bring falsehood and confusion in our lives?

I know how freeing the truth is.  When I held back the truth, it burned inside of me.  When I hold back His TRUTH, His WORD – it burns inside me.

“His Word in my heart is like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones,  I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.”  (Jeremiah 20:9)

Are we actually following the LIFE of Jesus?  Or are we just living our life and hoping that some days we do a few things like Jesus would do?

Oh – there is so much more to taking the WAY to the place He has prepared.  It’s not only about leaving this earth and making it to heaven.  It’s the journey along the way.  What are you learning?  Who are you helping to come with you?  What obstacles are you overcoming? What victories are you relying on God to bring in your life?

If you are overcoming trials and seeing the good God can bring out of them, you are going the right way.

“Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’ (Matthew 7:13-14)

The way might not be easy… it might not be smooth.  But you want to be sure you are taking the Way through the right gate!  He is the ONLY Way, Truth and Life!
