I just read in Streams in the Desert today that God does the impossible and God will “Repay you all the years the locusts have eaten.” Joel 2:25
Then I opened my Joshua Bible Study and it talks about the Israelite’s sanctifying themselves and it asks what was involved in consecration in Exodus 10, and it is the plague of the locusts. “And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested in the coast of Egypt: Very grievous they were; before them there were no such locust as they, neither after them shall be such. For they covered the whole land, so that the land was darkened, they ate every herb, all the fruit of the trees, and there remains not any green thing in all the land of Egypt.” Exodus 10:14-15
The locust had to devour Egypt in order to consecrate the people. The Lord had to devour my Egypt in order to consecrate me. All the stuff that was stolen, lost or sold, it had to be devoured, and now God gets the Glory for restoring the years the locusts ate.
God had to send the locusts. It was part of the Israelite’s deliverance. And it was part of my deliverance.
