My first Thanksgiving home was AWESOME!! I got to go to my parent’s house for 6 hours. It was all I expected and more! Mom cooked, Shauna came over with the girls. Dad watched football. I just soaked it all in. Got a little piano playing out of Macy. (She’s real good too) Got harassed, hugged and tickled by Desiree, played dress up with Mackenzie. (Actually she played dress up, I just threw clothes at her) It’s pretty sad that my 11 year old niece can fit in the clothes I wore at age 25!
We sat at the big dinner table to eat and this was very special to me. It was just like old times, except a little different. Dad and a table full of girls. The little ones were a little crazy—but I kinda loved it.
I loved hanging out with the girls and laying on the couch with my dad, and cleaning up my room after I trashed it with clothes. I even loved clearing the dishes off the table. It just felt so normal. Very soon it will be normal for me to be at home. Just a few more weeks and I will be on home confinement. And the taste of home life I got yesterday will be an everyday reality.
