I’m sitting in my bed, reading in Joshua and thinking of all the good things God has done for me. I just closed my eyes for a moment and listened to the song playing in my ears, “Bless the Lord , oh my soul, worship His holy name, sing like never before, oh my soul, I worship Your holy name…” and I thought, I sure would like to have this song on my mp3. Then I opened my eyes and realized I was listening to my mp3 player. I got lost in the music. I forgot where I was. And for a few minutes, in the midst of all my roommates, the bright white lights above me and the inappropriate movie playing on the TV, it was just me and my Savior. I was worshipping His Holy Name and nothing else mattered. Oh, how I look forward to the day I will have my own room to close the door and just see Jesus!
There is nothing like being able to freely praise the Lord however I want. Whether I want to get on my knees, raise my hands, or cry out to Him! I know I can do any of that here, but I’m not much for show, and some people just don’t understand a true worship posture. So I stick to singing out loud when it starts getting a little crazy in here and praying silently at other times it gets crazy.
So, I think it’s worth repeating: Oh how I look forward to the day I will have my own room to close the door and…Just See Jesus!
