“Let us fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are great…I will correct you in justice and will not let you go altogether unpunished.” 2 Samuel 24:14; Jeremiah 30:11
What a great thing to fall into the hand of the Lord and not the hand of the enemy. He corrects us with justice. His discipline is fair and out of His great love for us.
There are always going to be trials and temptations, but “blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of Life, which the Lord has promised to them who love Him.” James 1:12
Sometimes there will be times that we fall when tempted. But “though he fall, he will not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Psalm 37:24
And if we cry out to Him from the midst of our trials, He will hear us because, “The Lord’s hand is not too short, that it cannot save, neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” Isaiah 59:1
So what do you do when faced with a situation that is too much for you to bear? Do you run to and fro-looking for a way out but never finding it? Do you resign and settle for something less than God’s perfect will for your life? Or do you reach for God’s unchanging hand that He has never withdrawn from your reach?
“God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
Will you look for His hand and make your escape…or not?
