I had a job interview yesterday. It went great! I was a little nervous going in, being that I haven’t been in an interview in like 6 years. But God went before me, like He always does, and He made a way…like He always does!
I was preoccupied (and a little excited) when I got there and I forgot to call and check into the halfway house. We have to call when we get somewhere, and call when we leave. I forgot to do both. It wasn’t until I was on the train home that I realized I never called. As soon as I got off to transfer trains I was on the pay phone apologizing, I’m so scared I’m gonna do something to get in trouble…like forget to call. But I guess the staff here knows the ones that truly forget and purposefully forget.
So I got offered the job. PRAISE GOD! It is in an office…exactly what I was hoping for. And the people I will be working with are amazing. Very understanding and flexible, which is what this halfway house demands of employers, considering all the requirements. I have been praying since I walked out of the building. I told God I only want this position if it is His will. There were a couple concerns, like transportation and distance. (It is about and hour and a half train ride.) So I told God to close the door if it wasn’t going to work out. The door is still opened, because I got offered the job. So now I just have to wait and see if Mrs. Goss approves it.
God gave me hope this morning through the Daily Light. The verses are about working for the Lord.
“Whatsoever your hands find to do, do it with all your might” (Ecc. 9:10). “Whatever you do, do it all heartily, as to the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance” (Colossians 3:23-24).
To be given a word about work, the morning after I get a job is pretty significant. Lord, all good things come from You above. You open doors that no man can shut. I want to walk through only those open doors. Not the ones I open on my own. I praise You Lord and I leave my life in Your hands. Amen
