I went to my first church service yesterday. I rode the DART Rail to downtown Dallas and went to First Baptist Dallas. I was late to the service because the times they gave me to go didn’t match up with the service times. But I caught most of the sermon. And at the end of the sermon, we stood up to sing Just As I Am…the same song I was listening to at breakfast. I got all teared up and could barely sing.
This song reminds me that He wants me just as I am…nothing more, nothing less. Whether I am in prison, 1/2 way in prison, or free. He just wants me to come to Him with my whole heart.
“It is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works” Ps 73:28
After church I had about 30 minutes to spare before catching the train back so I walked down a few streets and just basked in the knowledge that I was walking downtown by myself…it was an amazing feeling!
It’s better than I expected. I am set free from my prison and I am praising His Name! {Ps 142:7}
I am so happy for you Randi!!
I have never forgotten about you over the past 4 years, and I’m so happy to hear you finally are able to start the next chapter in this precious life. I think you would prosper in that environment, but that is just me “thinking out loud” feel free to contact me via email, again…I am so happy for you and feel blessed our paths crossed, regardless of the environment in which it happened.
