10-5-12

Psalm 5:12 says, “For You Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor will You compass him as with a shield.”
A shield of favor…Yes and Amen! Need I say anything more?
The 1st verse of Psalm 5 says, “Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.” Thank You Lord that You hear my cries and give Your grace and favor so freely!
Today I am going out on my first day of job searching, and I will be taking this shield of favor with me! I think of Joshua 1:3 this morning as I prepare my heart to find a job, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that I have given you.” I know I am blessed and highly favored because I see His blessings all around me and I have complete faith that the perfect job is coming to me. I have had a couple leads, but they are not jobs the halfway house will allow me to do. I think God wants me to get out there and do some footwork. I need to practice some interviewing and get comfortable with people again. That’s one thing I am still struggling with is holding a professional conversation. It used to come so easily to me. Now I fumble with my words. It’s like I’m not really sure what I want to say. So some practice interviews will be good for me.
I just love the words the Lord gave to Joshua, “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wheresoever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I know the Lord is with me and He will go before me into any interview. This is why I am being a little choosy about where I apply. I know I have the favor of the Lord, and I think I will get hired easily because of this. So I don’t just want to go to the first place available. I want to apply somewhere I will enjoy.
Now I am definitely not boasting in myself when I say that. I am boasting in the Lord. It is by His favor and grace that all blessings come! And that being said, I’m off to get ready for my day!
“Bless the Lord, O’ my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” Psalm 103:2
