Cold Dark Place – By Skipper Giardina

I wanted to share some of the songs that Skipper and I have been writing lately. She does the words and I put them to music. We’re a really good pair. So I’ll be throwing in some songs over the next 3 weeks. Maybe one day I’ll get to sing them on the blog 🙂 This is our first one.

You’re not alone in this cold dark place. I’m here for you where I’ve always been.
I’m loyal and loving to you forever. I sent My Son to be your closest friend.

Where can I get some joy? Can I buy some peace?
In a place where nothing is for sale I find, I’m truly free.
As I lay in a cold dark place, with a concrete slab for a bed,
I remember a still small voice, gently in my head.

You’re not alone in this cold dark place. I’m here for you where I’ve always been.
I’m loyal and loving to you forever. I sent My Son to be your closest friend.

You’ll never have enough to buy what I freely give.
Not only life thereafter, but life right now, where you breath and live.
I’ve sent you My loving Son, so open your eyes to see His face.
Your heart will have freedom from this cold dark place.

You’re not alone in this cold dark place. I’m here for you where I’ve always been.
I’m loyal and loving to you forever. I sent My Son to be your closest friend.

I’ll hold you till your warm and lift you with my strength.
Come to me my child and leave your cold dark place.
