Worship

March 25, 2012
Church today was awesome! I got to play with my new toy… the mike stand for the piano. And as I said in my last post – I was nervous.

But when I sat down to play – the Spirit came over me and I was playing things I didn’t even practice – I was talking into the mike – I had so much fun with “What A Mighty God We Serve.”

Then we slowed it down a bit and sang “We Have Come Into This House” and the 3rd verse says “Let us lift up holy hands and magnify His name.” And I said, “Don’t be afraid to lift your hands up to Him.” And when I looked out at the congregation, almost everyone had their hands raised. That only brought another wave of the Spirit over me and I got teared up.

Then we went into a song called “Freedom Reigns.” It says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is – there is freedom.” And this is kinda our theme song! And prisoners, singing about freedom really hits home. Especially singing “Freedoms reigns in this place… showers of mercy and grace… falling on every face… there is freedom.”

Every time we sing this song – the tears flow! How amazing to be in physical bondage – but free from head to toe!

God led every bit of the worship service. I don’t even know what I said during that song, but I know I was talking. And when I got back to my seat, my face was burning up. I literally had to fan myself. The Holy Spirit was on us so hard! It took about 5 minutes of heat before I was back to normal.

God is so amazing! And “Wherever the Spirit of the Lord is – there is freedom!” (2 Cor. 3:17) Whether we are in prison, in church, in your prayer closet or anywhere you are – He is there. And He will set you free!
