Ecc. 10:10
“If iron be blunt, and he does not whet the edge, then it must be put to more strength, but wisdom is profitable to direct.”
I went searching for direction today and this verse stood out to me. If I were to be trying to do this on my own – with my own plans and ideas – in my own strength – I would fail. It takes so much more effort than if I just ask God for wisdom.
The difference is me trying to get God to bless my plans… or waiting on God to bless me with His plans. I want Him to be a part of all my doings, even the small decisions that I think I can handle on my own. And As long as I am following His guidance and His direction, I won’t go the wrong way, or take the long way through the wilderness for 40 years.
Lord, please give me an extra portion of wisdom this day. I want to make wise decisions and follow after you. For it is better to get wisdom than gold. And your wisdom, that is from above, is pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Lord, that’s the kind of wisdom I desire. The wisdom you promised in your Word. Thank you for doing as you promised. In Jesus Name, Amen
