oh, the fighting!

When 2 of my 3 children were pretty small.  We were riding in the car the two of them in the back seat.  I’m not real sure what happened between the two of them, but Jess ended up getting angry at her brother (imagine that) and a scuffle broke out.  Afterward I heard her turn to him and say, “your not ours we are just babysitting you”.  He looked devestated, confused, and hurt.  Tears began to role down his face.  She went on to tell him, “your name is not even really Rylee Jay Layton it is Rylee Jay Greatbill”.  Where she came up with that I don’t know. —Even as small children we understand how important it is to have a “place” .  The place where we belong.  Where we fit.  Sometimes throughout of lives we realize that we have lost our place.  Someone I love very much told me once, “I don’t know who I am anymore”.  “I need to find me”.  The best place to begin is in the Word of God.  Who better to teach you all about yourself and where you belong than the one who created you.  Isaiah 43:1 But now, o Jacob listen to the Lord who created you.  O Israel, the one who formed you says.  Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.  I have called  you by name and you are mine.”  Sometimes the Enemy of my Soul tries to convince me that I no longer have a place.  That I don’t belong anywhere anymore.  He is a liar!!!  There is holiness in each day, in each place God has us, in each moment, if we look for it.  My place is to live holding on to Jesus Christ alone.  I know who I am and Where I am going.  And everyday I thank my God for my place as Jacob, Jesseca, and Rylee Jay Greatbill’s mom.

2Corinthians3:17 Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom!!!!!
