Here i am, Taryn Coleman, nearly six months into my unique assignment, 108 month sentence at Federal Medical Center, Caldwell Prison Camp. I am from Spokane, Washington. I can’t say why exactly I am so far from home, other than my father, Lord in heaven, planned this long term residence change for an ultimate purpose, to make me the woman he raised me to be.
There’s a scripture that was brought to me in the beginng of my journey that i stand on and keeps me going. “The point spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has annoited me to bring the good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the broken hearted and proclaim that captives will be released, nd prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Isreal, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive raise instead of depain.” (Isaiah 61: 1-3)
The Lord has since certainly allowed me to trade in my ashes for a crown of beauty. I would have never believed I would come to prison and find the freedom i’ve always wanted. I am free to love, free to feel, and free to grow right where I am. The Lord has been so helpful to me through my journey so far, and I rely on his grace to get me threw the rest of my days here.
