I have an issue that I need help with.
A lot of ladies come to prison only to find out that their husbands want a divorce. Some are unfaithful. Some are lonely. Some have prior problems, some don’t. But they think divorce is the best option. So here’s the issue: The women don’t want to get divorced. They want restoration. They want to save their marriage. And rightfully so. I believe that is what is best. God hates divorce and He is the Master of healing and restoration! But sometimes is it God’s will to divorce? I know the Bible says divorce is allowed if the spouse is unfaithful. Some women who have already gone through with the divorce say that sometimes it is God’s will to divorce. So my question is do we pray to restore the marriage and not give up? Or do we pray for God’s will? Or do we pray for both? If you have any advice that will help me in this matter please write to me or post a comment. God Bless Ya’ll!
Sometimes there is just too much stuff involved for anyone to make a blanket statement that covers all. I can’t help believe that God always wants us to turn to Him for help no matter what the cause. Divorce is not the unforgivable sin. But what I have seen from the ravages of divorce is unresolved hurt, anger and trust. How does anyone move forward in their own life if they carry hurt, anger and mistrust around? Life is hard enough without carrying those heavy things. That’s why I think God wants us to try to mend things with his help. He wants us to forgive ….70 X 7 right? So for each person who may be facing this situation….they have to come to God and find their own answers. If we are bystanders, we need to offer up prayer on their behalf and allow them to work through it with God. Now I know that doesn’t give you any clear definite answer….except one thing….it’s in God’s hands. God never makes a mistake.
